Scholarship Rules & Regulations

The Michigan Distributors and Vendors Association is sponsoring a Scholarship Program to help deserving students meet the ever-increasing costs of a college education. Employees, and the children of employees, of active MDVA wholesaler and vendor member companies are eligible to apply. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded. The winner will be selected in an open drawing conducted by Lauryn English, GCSI, for the Michigan Distributors and Vendors Association. All questions of eligibility will be referred to the Scholarship Committee and the decisions of that committee will be final.

TO APPLY:

  1. Complete the scholarship application form.
  2. The program is open to employees and employees’ children of any MDVA wholesaler or vendor member.
  3. Students who are enrolled in professional trade, undergraduate, or graduate schools are eligible.
  4. Applicants’ college eligibility and employment status or parent employment status with an MDVA member firm will be verified.
  5. More than one eligible child in a family may apply. Only one scholarship will be awarded to the eligible children of the owners, or to the eligible children of employees of any one company.
  6. No written papers or tests are required.
  7. Applications must be received by MDVA for verification of school status by the Scholarship Committee by NO LATER THAN JULY 31, 2026.
  8. Winners will be selected by random drawing conducted by Lauryn English, GCSI.  Scholarship money will be awarded during the month of September, at which time each winner’s eligibility for school enrollment is confirmed. The winner will be announced at the MDVA Annual Convention at Boyne Mountain Resort. Applicants need not be present.
