The Michigan Distributors and Vendors Association (MDVA) represents Michigan’s wholesale distributors of convenience and grocery store products, as well as Michigan’s vending and food service businesses:
MDVA Wholesalers are wholesale distributors of convenience and grocery store products, delivering to over 10,000 retail stores across the state. We are licensed cigarette and tobacco wholesalers by the state of Michigan, and we collect the state cigarette and tobacco taxes and also affix the state tax stamp to every pack of cigarettes sold. Last year alone, our wholesalers affixed Michigan tax stamps to almost 400 million packs of cigarettes and collected almost $1 billion in cigarette and other tobacco taxes to the state of Michigan – a costly operation to our businesses. Our wholesale distributor members service retail accounts in every region of the state with a full array of convenience store products in addition to tobacco.
MDVA Vendors are automatic merchandisers and food service operators. Our vendor members operate snack, beverage, and food vending machines, as well as micro markets, food service, and office coffee in facilities and business accounts throughout the state.
MDVA Associates are firms other than a wholesaler/vendor, such as a manufacturer, broker, etc. that provides a product or service to the wholesale distribution, vending, tobacco, and food service industries.
